Johannesburg Teleport scheduled for early 2019
IP Link offers ideal facilities for the hosting and co-location of satellite communication solutions (hub) in our First-Class teleports combined with flexible, scalable bandwidth services and the global terrestrial Eutelsat network. IP Link is a two-way Satellite Broadband Service that has been designed to offer data services where clients bring their own broadband platform to the teleport. Eutelsat’s teleports house the client’s platform and perform operations such as uplinking, provision of internet connectivity, etc. Allocated resources for IP Link Services are made available by Eutelsat. The IP Link service uses bandwidth in both directions, from the Hub to the remote terminal and from the remote terminal to the Hub.
Trunking - Extending Terrestrial Fibre Networks
IP Trunk service provides secured, high-capacity, scalable, dedicated throughput to remote sites using the most efficient modulation. Whatever your location and needs, satellite is the best method for bypassing or simply extending the terrestrial fibre optic network. Through our satellite capacity you can effectively remove local loop difficulties, especially in areas with poorly developed infrastructure. As the number of internet subscribers grows exponentially, the infrastructure can struggle to keep up. However, with a satellite connection between Network Access Points and the internet backbone, ISPs and telecom operators can ensure assure access whatever the amount of traffic, independent of where customers are located.
M2M and IOT
As demand for intelligent connected objects and the Internet of Things (IoT) takes off, applications are increasingly required to collect or exchange very small volumes of data with remote devices. This ranges from traditional industrial Machine-to-Machine (M2M) applications, such as remote monitoring for oil & gas pipelines, to new IoT applications such as monitoring public lighting in Smart Cities. Eziconnect’s SmartLNB is a unique new satellite solution for low data rate consumption, providing highly efficient connectivity to low throughput applications via satellite. In addition to the traditional advantages of satellite, with ubiquitous, secure and resilient communications, SmartLNB is a cost-effective solution both in terms of equipment costs and optimisation of the satellite capacity.
